Cuba Holidays

Cube Holidays before the US embargo

Looking from the days before the US embargo, holidays in Cuba used to be all the rage. My grandfather used to go on and on with Cuba holidays. Although I enjoyed his statement telling stories, way back when I was a kid I always assumed that he was exaggerating for effect. He would narrate about meeting kings of business and European royalty, movie stars and mobsters, all there to have a fascinating time on an island paradise. One of his last regrets was that he did not have to go on another Cuba holiday before he died. Although things have changed a lot over there, my grandpa would be happy this times if he knew that his grandson had made a visit over to that beautiful island.

Don’t think that Cuba Holidays would be very dangerous

To hear people in the government talk, you would think that holidays to Cuba holidays would be very dangerous for an American. Nothing couldn’t be nearer from the truth. As a matter of fact, the biggest peril for Americans traveling on Cuba holidays is our own state department. You see, it is technically illegal for us to travel there because our country has an embargo against them for reasons that do not extremely make sense. If you want to go on a Cuba holiday, you have to undergo one of two things. Either you have to catch special approval from the State Department (which can be difficult, to say the least) or you have take a flight to Canada, and then go to Cuba from there. The latter option is a quite risky as, technically, you are going against American law. If the US government wanted to make an example of you, they cannot let you back in to the country. In reality, but, that never happens. That is the manner most American folks take Cuba holidays.

Everything about Cuba is Amazing

Once you get there, prepare to be carried away by one of the loveliest places you have ever discovered. Everything about Cuba is amazing. The people are beautiful, the architecture is awesome, the ocean is amazing, and the scenery is beyond compare! Although there are lots of bad rap that the Cuban government gets over here, it is mostly overblown. The people that I met seemed very happy with their status of living. They produce enough money, get good health care, and overall, seem to zest life a lot more than most of the people I know back home.

Chile the country not the food

The origin of Chile

Several concepts exist to the origin of the word Chile. One theory, the Incas of Peru, who had not became successful to conquer the Araucanians, called the valley of the Aconcagua by corruption of the name of a tribal chief called Tili. Tili who ruled the place during the period of the Incan conquest. One more theory traces to the similarities of the Aconcagua valley with that of the Casma in Peru. In Casma Peru there was a place and valley named Chili. Others think that Chile may have grabbed its name from the indigenous Mapuche word chilli, which means “where the land ends” or “the deepest point of the Earth”.

Early settlers of Chile

About 10,000 years ago, Native Americans migrating from the North occupied the fertile valleys of South America which is now Chile. The Incas for a moment extended their empire into what is current day northern Chile, but because of the distance of the area, and the strong opposition that existed at the time extensive settlement was prevented.
